Hello Parents and Guardians,
Your 6th grade student will have the opportunity to participate in a two week long Bike Safety Unit in collaboration with The City of Eugene's River House Outdoor Center. The dates are April 21st to May 2nd. Attached is a newsletter with more information, as well as the permission slip. Your student will be sent home with a paper copy of both of these forms in a couple weeks.
As stated in the attached newsletter, we will need adult volunteers to help assist with new riders, as well as our community ride. If you have any interest in being a volunteer, here is the link: https://signup.com/go/LrQWHDv
The program requires students to:
• Return a release form signed by their legal guardian (a phone call or hand-written note is not sufficient)
• Be able to ride a bike (We recommend students attending one of the free Learn to Rides programs hosted by Safe Routes to School prior to Bike Safety Education for non-riders or nervous riders)
• To ride in the street
• Wear close-toed shoes and appropriate clothing for biking (be prepared for the weather, especially cold and rain)
Please feel free to reach out with any questions,
