Meals

Breakfast, second breakfast fand lunch will still be available FREE to all students. However, there are a few changes:

• All students are eligible to receive one free breakfast and one free lunch each school day. No meal application is required.
   
• Breakfast is available before school (8:30 a.m) and during the mid-morning break (11:20). This means if your student eats the 8:30 breakfast and then gets another breakfast during the 10-minute break, that breakfast will be charged to their meal account, as they are only allowed one free breakfast.
   
• On that same note, students who choose to purchase additional meals, second entrees, or à la carte items, will be charged according to the current Nutrition Services price list. Charges for these items are applied to the student's meal account.
   
• Menu offerings will be more standardized across schools.
   
• Specialized menu options (including gluten-free or vegetarian alternatives) will be more limited than in previous years.
   
• Because all students receive free school meals through the district's meal program, meal participation no longer determines eligibility for reduced school fees or other community benefits (i.e., Kidsports scholarships, etc). Families who need documentation of income eligibility for fee reductions at other community programs, should complete the district's income-based eligibility form.
