Hello 8th Grade Families!
 
It's hard to believe that our kids are almost through their last year in middle school! Planning for the 8th Grade Promotion and Party is underway and we need your help!

The promotion will take place at the school on the evening of Thursday, June 11th, with a private party for the 8th graders at DEFY immediately following. The party is not sponsored by the school so we need families, friends, and businesses to help make this event a success! 

Parents will need to RSVP their kids to attend (more on that as we get closer). We will have a volunteer doing check-in at the door for all 8th graders. We will also need all parents to complete a waiver if their child doesn’t already have one on file at DEFY.

1. Donate money to the cause! We are trying to avoid fundraisers if at all possible — these take a lot of time with little return. We have set a goal to raise $3000 which will pay for our private party at DEFY. We have over $200 from last year’s 8th grade promotion that will help kickoff our efforts! The MPG (Madison Parent Group) has created an account for 8th grade promotion so all donations will go through them. You can send a Venmo payment to @MadisonParentGroupEugene, write a check to Madison Parent Group, or send cash. If any businesses would like to donate, we can provide a tax ID letter for the deduction.
 
2. Volunteer to help on June 11th. We’ll need volunteers to supervise during the party (a person near the bathrooms, someone near the front door and others peppered about the facility). We could also use some help for item donation sign-ups, like food & drinks.
